1. The Short Version
We never sell your personal information, and we never share your fasting, journal, health, or spiritual data for advertising. The BellyClock website carries no advertising at all. The free tier of the mobile app shows ads — our own product promotions and, in some slots, a third-party ad network — and Premium removes them. We use data to run BellyClock, protect accounts, process payments, support optional AI and sync features, and improve reliability.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the information needed to provide the app and website:
- Account information, such as email address, display name, authentication status, and support messages.
- Fasting and wellness data, such as fasting timers, schedules, history, hydration, mood, energy, measurements, goals, and notes you choose to add.
- Spiritual routine data, such as prayer-time preferences, fasting calendars, and location settings used for sunrise, sunset, or prayer calculations when you enable them.
- Device and usage data, such as app version, device type, language, timezone, feature usage, diagnostics, crash reports, and security logs.
- Payment and subscription data, such as plan, entitlement status, checkout identifiers, receipts, renewal status, and cancellation status.
2a. Crash Reports and Anonymous Usage Data
The mobile app uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to find crashes and understand which features are used. This is deliberately narrow:
- Crash reports contain the technical stack trace, app version, device model, and OS version.
- Usage events record that a screen was opened or a feature was used — never what was on the screen.
- Reports are tied to a random identifier generated on install, not to your account, email, or name. Reinstalling produces a new one.
- Your fasting logs, journal entries, photos, voice notes, weight, mood, prayer times, and location are never included in a crash report or usage event.
You can turn this off at any time under Settings → Personalization → Share crash & usage data. The setting takes effect immediately and survives signing out.
3. Payments
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Web or direct purchases are processed by Dodo Payments. We do not store full payment card numbers.
Payment providers may process billing details, fraud-prevention signals, tax information, and transaction records under their own privacy terms.
4. How We Use Information
- To provide fasting timers, reminders, analytics, wellness insights, spiritual fasting tools, and app settings.
- To sync or back up data when you enable account-based or cloud features.
- To process optional AI features you request, using only the content needed for that feature.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions, verify entitlements, prevent fraud, and handle refunds.
- To provide support, send service messages, fix bugs, monitor reliability, and protect BellyClock from abuse.
- To improve the product using aggregate or diagnostic information.
5. Ads and Affiliate Links
Website: this website carries no advertising and sets no advertising cookies.
Mobile app, free tier:the free tier of the BellyClock mobile app shows ads. Most slots are our own promotions — BellyClock Premium, or our sister apps. Some slots are served by Google AdMob, a third-party ad network. AdMob may use a device advertising identifier to select and measure ads, subject to the tracking permission you granted your device. You can review Google's handling of that data in the Google Privacy & Terms. A Premium subscription removes every ad slot in the app.
We never pass your fasting logs, journal entries, photos, voice notes, health data, or spiritual routine data to any ad network or affiliate partner, and we do not use them for ad targeting.
We may also include our own affiliate links in the app, blog, or educational content. If you click one, the merchant or affiliate platform may receive the attribution information needed to credit a commission.
6. When We Share Data
We share information only in specific conditions:
- With service providers that help us operate BellyClock, such as hosting, authentication, databases, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, email/support tools, AI providers, and security services.
- With Apple, Google, and Dodo Payments for app distribution, checkout, subscription management, tax, receipts, fraud prevention, and payment support.
- When you ask us to share or export data, connect an integration, use a community feature, or contact support.
- When required for legal compliance, safety, fraud prevention, security, or to protect the rights of BellyClock, users, or others.
- As part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, with appropriate protections for user data.
7. Optional AI Features
AI coaching, meal ideas, fasting guidance, journaling prompts, or similar features are optional. When you use them, we may send the relevant prompt and selected context to AI service providers so they can return a response.
AI output is informational and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Do not rely on it as medical, religious, legal, or professional advice.
8. Permissions and Integrations
BellyClock may request permissions for notifications, location, HealthKit, Google Fit, biometrics, camera, photos, or similar device features. Permissions are controlled by your device settings. Some app features may not work if a permission is disabled.
9. Retention and Deletion
We retain account and app data while your account is active or as needed to provide BellyClock. You can delete local data from your device, delete your account where available, or contact us for deletion help.
Some records may be retained longer where required for legal, tax, payment, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, encryption in transit, and provider-level security controls. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a strong password and protect your devices.
